Invitation Card

'24hr Design Challenge' was an event hosted by Hendzel+Hunt - a vibrant, young design studio based in South London. Inspired by the history and aesthetics of Peckhams industrial past, namely the Edison Bells gramophone factory and record label, the challenge was: To design and produce a machine capable of playing a record within the set 24 hour period.

In reflection to the event theme, the design of the invitation card is based on the idea of 're-creation'. By modifying the old phonograph records, including the record jackets and paper bags, the product's functionality has been changed to provide a new meaning and purpose. Each invitation card is unique in itself and carrys their own individual historical story.
